About Rooftop Shooting Range

Rooftop Shooting Range is an outdoor tactical training facility located at 442 County Road 4455 in Trenton, Texas — approximately 25 minutes north of McKinney and 45 minutes from Dallas. Founded in 2023 by Peter Kim, the range serves advanced civilian shooters, competitive athletes, law enforcement, and firearms professionals across the greater DFW area including Dallas, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Celina, Prosper, and Allen.

The facility spans 11 acres and features nine 40-yard tactical bays and a 150-yard rifle bay. Every bay supports dynamic shooting with pistols, rifles, and shotguns, and is equipped with paper target stands, steel targets, moveable barricades, VTAC walls, tank traps, and a PRS barricade. Draw from holster, movement, and rapid fire are all permitted. The 150-yard rifle bay is restricted to members who have completed the rifle bay qualification.

Rooftop operates on a semi-private model with six membership tiers — Weekday ($89/mo), Bronze ($109/mo), Silver ($139/mo), Gold ($169/mo), Family ($249/mo), and Corporate ($1,200/mo) — as well as a $50 day pass. Members receive RFID keycard access, priority bay access, 20% off classes and merchandise, and discounted match fees. Day pass access is available Wednesday through Friday and after 1 PM on weekends. The range is closed to non-members on Mondays and Tuesdays. Active first responders and military receive 15% off admission and membership.

Firearm training is offered through Rooftop Shooting Academy (RSA), with courses including Pistol Essentials, Fundamental Foundations 101 and 102, Intro to Competition Shooting, Ladies Pistol Foundations, and private instruction with Andy Dang, Jenn Tang, and Peter Kim.

Rooftop is also the home of PCSL — the Practical Competition Shooting League — in North Texas. Regular PCSL matches covering pistol, concealment, rifle, and 2-gun formats are hosted on-site and posted on PractiScore. Rooftop is one of the only DFW-area ranges hosting sanctioned PCSL matches.
