The Carbine Fundamentals class focuses on developing good techniques to become a fundamentally sound carbine shooter. The class will help students understand the WHY’s behind their shooting results and HOW to improve speed and accuracy with a carbine through a variety of live-fire drills.

Time Commitment: 9:30 AM - 4 PM (45-minute lunch break at approx 12:30 PM)
Prerequisites: Students attending the class must be able to demonstrate excellent firearm safety protocols.
The following topics will be covered and practiced by students:
Safety overview
Equipment considerations: carbines, sighting options, suppressors, lights, slings, ammunition
Technique on administrative procedures
Zero procedure
Proper grip, sight picture, trigger press, stance/indexing
Rifle presentation
Recoil management
Reloads and manipulations
How to utilize sights as a feedback mechanism
Understand mechanical offset with optics
Target transitions
Accuracy vs. speed mode
Items Needed:
Eye and ear protection
Reliable semi-automatic carbine with a sling
500 rounds of ammunition (no home reloaded ammo)
At least 3 magazines (1 in gun, 1 on belt, 1 back up)
Quality gun belt with at least 1 rifle pouch
Appropriate outdoor range attire suitable for the current season (closed-toe shoes, no low-cut shirts, chapstick & sunblock, hat, etc.)
