Time Commitment: 9 AM - 5PM (45-minute lunch break at approx 12:30 PM)
Prerequisites: Students attending the class must be able to demonstrate excellent firearm safety protocols.
The following topics will be covered and practiced by students:
Safety overview
Equipment considerations: handguns, red dots, holsters, ammunition
Proper grip, sight picture, trigger press, stance/indexing
Handgun manipulation
Drawing from holster
Reloads
Recoil management
How to utilize sights as a feedback mechanism
Accuracy vs. speed mode
Items Needed:
Eye and ear protection
Reliable Semi-automatic pistol
500 rounds of ammunition (no reloads or remanufactured ammo)
At least 3 magazines (1 in gun, 2 on belt)
Quality gun belt with 2 pistol pouches
Quality holster (NO serpas, leather/fabric holsters)
Appropriate outdoor range attire suitable for the current season (closed-toe shoes, no low-cut shirts, chapstick & sunblock, hat, etc.)
Hydration, snacks, and lunch
